Shruti Ravindran
Shruti Ravindran is a features writer with Outlook magazine. She writes on subjects ranging from health, arts, cultures, and specialises in the quaint and the odd. She also writes on travel and literature; and is sometimes called upon to decimate heinous combinations of both. For a year, she drew a graphic comic-reportage column for City Limits, called Local Hero. And is currently awaiting something -- either comic or heroic or even odd -- to show her an entirely new direction.
…on the beach
Before the morning can leach its dull boats
to salt-sprinkled skeletons, they're plunged,
those mirages, into the water.
Even the horizon forgets them.
A pair of lovers, heat-hazed, gaze
at one another within a chaste
tent of cloth they erect, despite
the sudden naughty flutter of wind. |
